Management Team

Ms. Trompeter joined the Sphere 3D Board of Directors in April 2021 and has served as our Chief Executive Officer since April 2022. She brings to Sphere 3D over 20 years of notable success guiding corporate turnarounds, business dissolutions, M&A execution, finance, and acquisition integration. In her leadership role with Sphere 3D, she leverages her experience to optimize the Company’s operational and financial structures and ignite its revenue growth engines. Her experience includes various executive leadership positions, including Board Director, CFO, controller, COO, and M&A lead, for innovative and emerging technology companies. At GE Capital, Ms. Trompeter spent more than 15 years refining her restructuring & turnaround skills, mergers & acquisition skills, and her financial and operational expertise while growing her career. Before leaving, she earned the role of CFO at GE Capital IT Solutions, North America, overseeing $3B in Revenue. She is a Founder and Managing Director of Ceres Capital Ventures, LLC, an independent investment and advisory firm growing innovative technologies in emerging markets. She also serves as a mentor for minority female-owned businesses and assists several non-profits. Ms. Trompeter studied business administration at Marquette University, majoring in finance and economics, graduating in 1989.

Mr. O’Daniel has served as President of the Company since November 2018. Since January 2017, Mr. O’Daniel, served as a Vice President and President of Virtualization and Professional Services for the Company. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified ConneXions, Inc. from 2001 and as founder of HVE ConneXions, LLC from April 2013 until their acquisitions by the Company in January 2017. Mr. O’Daniel has over 20 years of experience in the virtualization and technology industry and has extensive experience in executive leadership positions.

Mr. Cunningham has served as the Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Professional Services since the acquisition of their companies in January 2017. He previously served as Senior Vice President and CFO for Unified ConneXions, Inc. and HVE ConneXions, Inc. Mr. Cunningham has over 25 years of experience leading and guiding corporate operations, strategies, and financial management in the technology industry. In addition to his proven ability in facilitation, problem-solving, crisis management and conflict resolution, his experience includes aligning corporate financial initiatives to achieve company objectives and leading organizations through aggressive growth and change. Mr. Cunningham earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Howard Payne University, majoring in Management Information Systems and earned his MBA with a concentration on Management Information Systems from Dallas Baptist University.

Mr. Kalbfleisch joined the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2022. Mr. Kalbfleisch has served as Overland-Tandberg's Senior Vice President from June 2012 to July 2022, and Chief Financial Officer since February 2008. Prior to that, he served as Overland’s Vice President of Finance from July 2007 to June 2012. Prior to that, Mr. Kalbfleisch held several key management roles in cost accounting and finance from December 1993 to 2007. Prior to joining Overland, he was a manufacturing budget analyst for McDonnell Douglas Corp. Mr. Kalbfleisch earned his MBA from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in Business from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
