Overland Storage Announces Initial Determination Date of ITC Patent Infringement Suit Extended to January 12, 2012
SAN DIEGO, CA, Nov 23, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Overland Storage (NASDAQ: OVRL) today announced that the International Trade Commission (ITC) has extended its initial final determination date on Overland's patent infringement lawsuit against BDT to January 12, 2012.
According to the Judges order, the extension was determined to be necessary as a result of an increase in the administrative and judicial duties of the judge, who was named Acting Chief Administrative Law Judge on August 4, 2011.
Overland filed a patent infringement lawsuit against BDT, IBM and Dell claiming infringement of two of its patents. An ITC trial was completed on September 7, 2011. On November 16, 2011, Overland reported that the ITC action and district court action against IBM and Dell had been resolved by settlement. Overland's infringement suit against BDT is ongoing and the company remains optimistic about the case. Overland is represented by DLA Piper LLP.
