University of Sheffield, has won ‘Storage Project of the Year’ at the
Storage Virtualisation Cloud (SVC) 2011 Awards.
The University of Sheffield won the award for implementing two Overland
SnapServers and four SnapServer Expansion units to manage and protect
104TB of research data created by its Genetic Research department. Key
benefits of the Overland solution include the ability to store, manage,
protect, replicate and easily manage the research data, all in one
location.
The SVC awards, which were announced at a gala evening event in London
on the 7th December, reward the products, projects and
services as well as honour companies and teams operating in the cloud,
virtualisation and storage fields. Organised by Angel Publishing, they
recognise the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors.
