SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 1999--Overland Data Inc. (NASDAQ:OVRL), a technology leader in data storage and backup products, earned "What's Hot" status in the July 19 issue of InformationWeek for its recently announced EnterpriseXpress(TM) automated DLTtape(a) library.

The receipt of this editorial honor closely follows the "Reseller's Choice" award from Computer Technology Review for the EnterpriseXpress, and 14 other editorial awards for outstanding product design and reliability over the past two years for the LibraryXpress(TM) and LoaderXpress(TM) products.

InformationWeek, a weekly magazine with a circulation of 385,000, is one of the largest and most respected news sources in the Information Technology industry. Products that garner "What's Hot" attention are the latest technology offerings from a wide range of vendors serving a variety of markets. "We are honored that InformationWeek has recognized the uniqueness, value and potential of the EnterpriseXpress, an enterprise-class storage device offering powerful capabilities and ease of use," said Steve Richardson, vice president of marketing for Overland. "The EnterpriseXpress product line combines several Overland technologies to deliver a new standard of library scalability and data availability for enterprise storage applications. This unit can easily be upgraded to 129 GB per hour performance or 2.32 TB of total native capacity. The premium model features four DLT7000 or DLT8000 drives and 52 cartridge slots, targeting enterprise customers with 300 to 700 GB of data.
