Technology Partner Archiware Will Host Sphere 3D at NAB in Archiware Booth # SL15113
SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/13/15 --
Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY), a virtualization and data management solutions provider, today announced it will display and demonstrate its market-leading RDX® backup appliance solutions this week at the 2015 NAB Show with its technology partner, Archiware, in the Archiware Booth # SL15113, Las Vegas Convention Center.
At NAB, Sphere 3D will showcase its portable RDX QuikStor™, a USB3+ powered removable disk backup and archive appliance designed for use in environments where data portability and encrypted data security are essential including post-production workflow and footage distribution across locations, and outdoor usage. RDX QuikStor customers can achieve enterprise performance and fast transfer rates up to 936GB per hour and capacities of up to 2TB per cartridge, plus future expansion to larger capacity media enabled by Sphere 3D's next-generation RDX+™ software technology. Available now, the ruggedized RDX+ enabled and USB3+ powered external backup drive eliminates the need for an external power supply by simply connecting a USB3.0 cable to almost any system. More information on the company's solutions for media and broadcasting is at http://ow.ly/LmUB0.
Sphere 3D will also preview its new RDX QuikStation™4, a RDX+ software powered, highly-flexible network-attached removable disk array with four RDX drives for automated data protection, offsite disaster recovery and archiving. Built on Sphere 3D's award-winning and patented RDX removable disk technology, the new RDX QuikStation4 provides iSCSI connectivity for easy integration into existing infrastructures, and a small 1U 19-inch rack mount form factor.
Both the RDX USB3+ and the RDX QuickStation4 include Sphere 3D's new, groundbreaking RDX+ software technology which is designed to increase storage capacities by 50% and more, providing the company's existing RDX QuikStor and QuikStation appliance customers with future expansion to larger than 2TB capacity media. Unlike other competitive RDX solutions with a maximum of 2TB capacity, Sphere 3D's RDX+ enabled backup appliances are uniquely differentiated with backward and forward compatibility with Sphere 3D's RDX QuikStor and QuikStation appliances to protect customers' investments as disk drive capacities grow beyond 2TB.
Additionally, Sphere 3D's patented RDX technology has achieved a new milestone that demonstrates its global reach with over 1 Exabyte of storage capacity shipped to date on more than 700,000 RDX systems.
